Bridger Range, 2019-11-05 My partner and I skinned up the Middle Fork of Brackett to Ross Peak hoping to ski a few different things up there. Again, pulled the plug due to stability concerns. The snowpack was significantly thinner and weaker than what I've seen up at Bridger and older snow was moderately faceted. Northern Madison, 2019-11-05 In the upper basin and dropping into the South Fork of Spanish Creek. Cold temps had done a great job rearranging the snowpack for the worse, older snow was moderately faceted, lots of sub-angular to angular grains to be found. On upper elevation shaded slopes, where more snow from earlier in the year was preserved, the snow near the ground has been metamorphosed to depth hoar, with cupped, striated grains >5mm. Photo: B.
