Northern Bridger Range Snowpack

The snowpack in the northern Bridger Range supported the previous weekend's load of snow without producing avalanches. This is good sign. It is now 120 cm deep. Stability tests also produced encouraging results. Photo: GNFAC

Bony coverage in Beehive Basin

Beehive Basin Meadows

A skier in Beehive Basin on Saturday, November 9th noted: "Skinned into Beehive Basin and up to the meadows. Dug several pits and observed test scores on several columns between ECTP20-21 breaking 12 from the ground. Weak, sugary facets were observed at this layer as well as at the ground layer. Snowpit near the top of Pierre's Knob

Bridger Bowl Snbow Safety dug this pit near the top of Pierre's Knob lift.  They got collapsing on the layer of facets near the ground as they skied.  Test score on the column were ECTP18 breaking 12 cm from the ground. Photo: P. Maleski
