Greetings from the Avalanche Center.
I hope all of you had a great summer. It was a little too short for my taste, but I’m excited to get the season rolling forward. This time of year we work on our funding, write articles, and tighten our education programs. Mark Staples, Eric Knoff and I will be attending the International Snow Science Workshop in Tahoe in a few weeks where I’ll present a paper on the Saddle Peak avalanche last February.
We are already booking many avalanche classes this winter. Our Education Calendar is constantly being updated, so check back frequently.
Below are details on our 12th Annual PowderBlast and some avalanche classes the next few months.
Enjoy the fall and let’s keep our fingers crossed for a safe, powder filled winter.
Doug Chabot
