Over the past 24 hours the mountains picked up 4-6 inches of low density snow with the exception of the Big Sky area which picked up 2-3 inches. At 4 am, mountain temperatures range from the mid-teens to low 20s F and winds are blowing 15-25 mph out of the W-NW with stronger gusts being recorded along the ridgelines. Today, temperatures will warm into the upper 20s F under mostly cloudy skies and winds will remain light to moderate out of the W-NW. There is a continuing chance of mountain snow showers, mainly in the southern mountains where an additional 1-2 inches could accumulate by this afternoon. Another potent storm system is forecasted to arrive Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Overnight 1-2 inches of snow fell in the mountains around Cooke City. The rest of the advisory area remained dry. This morning, temperatures range from the single digits to low teens F and winds are blowing 10-25 mph out of the W-NW. Today, temperatures will warm into the mid to upper 20s F under partly cloudy skies and winds will continue to blow 10-25 mph out of the W-NW. A more potent storm system will begin to impact the area this evening. Mountains near Bozeman and Big Sky could see 1-3 inches by tomorrow morning while the southern Mountains could pick up 3-6 inches.
This morning temperatures are in the mid to upper 20s F under mostly clear skies and winds are light out of the W-NW. Today, a Canadian cold front will push into the area allowing temperatures to drop throughout the day. Highs will reach the upper 20s to low 30s by late morning, but will drop back into the low 20s F by this afternoon. Winds will remain light to moderate out of the W-NW and skies will become mostly cloudy later in the day. There is a slight chance of mountain snow showers by this evening with 1-2 inches is possible in the mountains by tomorrow.
With a slight inversion in place this morning, mountain temperatures were in the low 20s F in most areas and high 20s F in the Bridger Range. Light winds were blowing 5-10 mph from the N and E. Today will be similar to yesterday with sunshine, light winds, and temperatures in the low 30s F. The weather pattern may start changing this weekend with a decent chance of snow Sunday night and more possibly early next week.
This morning mountain temperatures were in the high teens and low 20s F with light westerly winds blowing 5-10 mph. Today will have more sunshine, very light winds, and temperatures near 30 degrees F.
After being shunned we are back in winter’s embrace. Last night three inches fell around West Yellowstone and Cooke City with 1-2 inches everywhere else, except the Bridger Range which got missed. Winds are 10-20 mph out of the west to southwest with temperatures in the upper 20s. The mountains will get a few flurries this morning, then clearing skies and temperatures in the mid-30s. My fingers are crossed for a little more snow this weekend.
Last night did not freeze in the mountains, the second night for many locations. Temperatures this morning are in the high 30s to 40F at 10,000 feet under clear skies. Winds are west to southwest at 15-20 mph with gusts of 35 mph. Today will be near record warmth with mountain temperatures reaching 50F. Skies will start sunny but thin high clouds will filter the brute force of the sun this afternoon. Late tonight a trace to one inch of new snow may fall in the southern mountains.
At 4 a.m. mountain temperatures range from the upper 20s near West Yellowstone and Cooke City to the upper 30s near Bozeman. Winds are blowing 10-20 mph out of the west with ridgetop gust reaching close to 30 mph. Today, a ridge of high pressure will build over the area producing sunny skies and near record warm temperatures. Highs today will reach close to 50 degrees F in the northern mountains and low 40s F in the mountains near West Yellowstone and Cooke City. No new snow is expected over the next 24 hours.

This morning, mountain temperatures are in the upper 20s to low 30s F and winds are blowing 15-25 out of the W-NW with a few stronger gusts being recorded along the ridgetops. Today, skies will remain mostly cloudy and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s to low 40s F. Winds will continue to blow 15-25 out of the W-NW. There is a slight chance of rain and snow in the mountains, but no real accumulation is expected. A ridge of high pressure will begin to move over the area tonight creating a sunnier and even warmer day tomorrow.
This morning near Bozeman and Big Sky, temperatures were near freezing and winds were blowing 15-20 mph gusting 30-40 mph from S and W. Further south near West Yellowstone and Cooke City it was colder and calmer with temperatures in the teens to 20s F and winds blowing 5-15 mph. Today will be mostly cloudy with snow falling in the mountains and some rain in the valleys. Most mountains should get 2-4 inches of snow by tomorrow morning.
